S.J. Hammon
Associate
S.J. Hammon is a litigation associate with Matheny Sears Linkert & Jaime, LLP. Ms. Hammon earned her Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law with the Business and Tax Certificates of Concentration. During her time at McGeorge, she served as President of the Student Bar Association her final year of school and President of the Craft Beer Law Society for two consecutive years. Ms. Hammon received an Outstanding Student Service Award at Commencement in recognition of her dedication to the McGeorge community.
During law school, Ms. Hammon clerked for Matheny Sears Linkert & Jaime, LLP, where she worked on property, personal injury, and public entity defense cases. While clerking for Matheny Sears, Ms. Hammon had the opportunity to participate in a month-long jury trial to verdict. She also worked as a Student Attorney at McGeorge’s Elder & Health Law Clinic, where she represented and counseled clients in matters including estate planning, civil litigation, and elder abuse.
Ms. Hammon earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and Communications with a concentration in Legal Studies from California State University, Monterey Bay. Prior to attending law school, she gained interpersonal experience in roles that varied from tour guide at the Santa Cruz Mystery Spot to rental agent at a beachside Property Management Company, all while working towards her undergraduate degree.
Raised in California’s Mother Lode, Ms. Hammon enjoys spending time staying active with Pilates or finding Sacramento’s best sour beer at local craft breweries.
